Shelby and Sydney are the basset hound
children of Kristy and Kevin George. Kristy is
also a part-time member of the Tail Wagger's
Team...

choosing between the gorgeous yet shy one and the
scrawny yet playful pup was an exercise in futility- so I
took them both home! It was more than I ever bargained
for in so many ways (good and bad!), but my girls have
been one of the biggest joys in my life. Spoiled rotten
(especially since I got married and added another
member to our "pack"), Shelby and Sydney are the
embodiment of everything basset (deep howls, short
stubby feet, a stubborn streak a mile long, and oh,
those ears!!)

Shelby, named for the Julia Roberts character in Steel
Magnolias is the shy one with the sad face...she looks
more like a beagle than basset (until she starts that
infamous howl of hers!) Sydney (named for Sydney,
Australia, where the Olympic games were held the year
she was born) is ever the goofy basset. When she isn't
burglarizing trash cans or begging with those sad
droopy eyes of hers, Syd can be found planted firmly
on her favorite couch! Syd is also a cover girl: she
appeared on the July cover of HealthWise magazine
which was dedicated to pet health. She even got flowers
from her vet office for being a celebrity!
Shelby on the other hand shys away from the
paparazzi and is always content to stay at home and
cuddle on the couch with her dad! For fellow basset
